He shows how strange fish blend in and stuff. This one octopus could completely blend in with a section of coral and you couldn't even tell he was there. Also some fish look like Christmas lights the way they light up. And some fish have colorful pulses that go through their body.

Dreamweaver Chapter 4

Common Gateway Interface (CGI)- When a browser collects data, the data is sent to a Hypertext Transfer Protocol server specified in the HTML form.

GET Method- Sends the data with the URL

POST Method- More efficient client because it sends the data to the application as standard input with no limits.

Target-  Specifies the window or frame in which to display the data after processing if a script specifies that a new page should be displayed.

Method- Indicated the method by which the form data is transferred to the server.

Enctype- Specifies a MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extentions) type for the data being submitted to the derver software will know how to interpret the data.

Class- Sets style sheet attributes and/ir attaches a style sheet to the current document.

Textfield- Assigns a unique name to the form object.

Labels- identify the type of data to be entered into the text field form object. 

Behavior- Is a combination of an event and an action.

Javascript- Scripting language written as a text file. I would use this for stuff needing scripting language.

Validate Form- Behavior verifies that the user has entered data into each designated field.

Dreamweaver Chapter 3

Page Layout- Process of arranging the text, images and other elements on the page. I would use this to arrange the stuff on my page.
Header- Located at top of page, contains logos, images or text that identifies the Web site. I would use this to put stuff at the top of the page I am creating.

Footer- Provides hyperlinks for contact information and navigational controls. I would use this to put hyperlinks and stuff.

Standard Mode- Table presented as a grid of rows and columns. I would use this to create tables.

Layout Mode- You can draw, resize, and move boxes to create tables. I would use this to create custom tables.

Cell Padding- Amount of space between cells. I would use this actually no I wouldn't because I can't use it because its a term.

Cell Spacing- Amount of space between cells. I would use this actually no I wouldn't because I can't use it because its a term.

Pixels- A tiny little square, makes up the images on a computer screen. I can't really use a pixel.

No Wrap- The table will expand to accomidate the text if on and there is no more space in a cell. I would use this to make cells fit all the text I need.

Hexadecimal number- Positonal numeral system with a radix, or base, of 16. I would use this to postion stuff.

Dreamweaver Chapter 2

Home page- The main page of a site and the first one you would see when you type in the address.

I would use it to get to different parts of a website from it.

Root directory- The main directory of a disk. I would use this to help me get to where I want to go in a file.

Assets panel- Helps you manage and organize your Web site's assets. I would use this to help me manage and organize my Web site's assets.

Invisible Element Marker- Shows the location of an inserted image within the HTML code. I would use this to show me the location of an inserted image within the HTML code.

Property Inspector- displays settings for the selected object's properties or attributes. I would use this to change settings for stuff.

Cropping- Lets you edit an image by reducing the area of the image and allows you to eliminate unwanted or distracting portions of the image. I would use this to edit images.

Optimization- The process of compressing and setting display options for Web graphics. I would use this to compress and choose the display options for Web graphics.

Absolute Link- Provides the complete URL of the document

External Link- Same as absolute link but just a different name.

Relative Link- used for local links

Named Anchor- Lets the user link to a specific location within a document. I would use this to link to a specific location within a document.

Design View-  The book says we have been using only design view. It shows you basically what it will look like. I would use this to preview my webpage as I'm creating it.

Code View- As you automatically type on Dreamweaver, it creates the code. Code view is like what you see when you make an HTML webpage in Notepad. I would use this to see the code of my webpage.

Split View- This allows you to see design view and code view at the same time on one screen. I would use this to see the design view and code view at the same time.

Web Standards

It is important to develop websites that comply with web standards because if you don't, it is likely people won't be able to access your website.

The reasons why I think web standards are important are because if you don't follow them people probably won't be able to access your website, they are standards for the web so you should probably follow them when making websites, you could end up with a bunch of problems if you don't follow them in the first place, it would be faster to just use them, and lastly you won't have to worry about your website not displaying the right way.

HTML focuses on the content of a webpage, CSS, focuses on the display of a webpage, XML is a markup language used to create other markup languages, and XHTML is a rewrite of HTML as an XML language.

Dreamweaver Chapter 1

Dreamweaver is a powerful tool people can use to make good websties and it also allows a lot of customization. Dreamweaver can create professional-looking web pages.

Screen resolution-Number of pixels in the width and height of a computer screen. A higher resolution makes the picture look a lot better but the objects on the screen are a lot smaller.

Property inspector-displays settings for the selected object's properties or attributes.

Insert bar-allows easy and fast access for frequently used commands. I would use this to speed things up.

Status bar-provides information about the document you are creating displays the following things; tag, select tool, hand tool, zoom tool, set magnification, window size, and estimated document size and download time. I would use these to help me.

Menu bar- displays the Dreamweaver menu names and each menu shows a list of commands you can use to perform tasks such as open, save, modify, preview, and insert data into your webpage. I would use this to pretty much use Dreamweaver since it has everything.

Line break-to start a new single line without a blank line of space between paragraphs

Color picker-picks color for the page or text. I would use this to pick the color of the backround and text.

Eye dropper-lets you select color to make a perfect match. I would use this to pick a special color I want.

3 Goals for This Semester

One personal goal I have for this semester is to pay closer attention in all my classes so I learn more.

A goal I have for school is to be more organized. I lose a lot of papers and stuff in my backpack and then I don't get credit because I can't find it even when I did the assignment.

My information technology goal is to work faster and harder so if we do another assignment like the pasta divine one then I can finish it. I didn't get to finish it because I kept running into problems so yeah.

What is the benefit of easily connecting to people and information?

The benefit is you can easily connect to people and information easily. Back a long time ago it would take weeks or months to contact people that weren't nearby. Now it takes seconds with very little effort. The only thing that could be done for contacting people that were far away was by writing letters.  Today we have email, social networking sites, phones for calling and text messaging, and a bunch of other tools on the internet.

What Kind of Application I Would Make

If I could make an application, I would probably make a game. I think it would be intense and games sell pretty well so I could make a bit of money off it. If I didn't make a game I would probably make some sort of tool to help people, although I'm not sure what exactly.

Software Suites

A software suite is a collection of seperate application programs bundled together and made available as a group. It is cheaper to buy a suite than all the applications invididually.
Productivity suites you can buy and use for buisiness work. They are professional-grade application programs.
Alternate office suites you can download off the internet for free. The downside to this is if you share or save a document on the internet with an application depends on the server that is providing the application.

How can technology be used to create?

Technology can be used to create software and applications.  Applications, like those found on an iPhone or iPod, are small programs. Some you can play games on and some do things like check the weather and check your email.

And using technology to create is sort of easy but sort of complicated.  Anyone could do it, but only more experienced people can design more complicated applications and software.

iPods

iPods are basically portable music players that can hold large amounts of memory. The creator of the iPod is the company Apple. There is a lot of different models of the iPod so different people can get what they want for their needs. Most of the newer models are touch screens. Touch screens are controlled by your fingers. The previous models of the iPod mostly had small finger pads you used to control what is going on.

Write one to three paragraphs explaining everything you know or think you know about how computers work.

All I know about how computers work is when you push the "On" button, they turn on.  And if you click on stuff then it will open or do something else if you want it to. I also know that you can save stuff on your computer because it has memory.

When using computers and the internet, what are the threats to personal privacy and how can we protect ourselves?

One huge threat is viruses. If you go to a website that contains a virus or you open an email that contains a virus your computer will become infected with one, usually more though. To prevent this, only give your email address to websites you trust and that don't look suspicious. Also, don't click on random advertises. Especially ones that say things like "Click here for a free laptop." One reason is its a scam no doubt and another reason is, there may be a virus on the link or website, so don't risk it.

If you aren't good at prevention of getting a virus you can use an antivirus software. Most are free and they are easy to use. Also, most computers come with an antivirus software, so you don't have to search for one.

If your computer does get a virus, the creator of the virus can see your personal documents and information and other things like that. Some viruses will even give the creator control of your computer. Unfortunately, getting rid of viruses isn't always easy, so just don't get one in the first place.

How can technology keep track of you, your friends and everyone else?

Technology, such as computers, can help keep track of people by use of things like social networking sites. They allow people to talk to eachother and keep in touch even if they are on the other side of the world. There is many of them and some of them include Facebook and Myspace. Most social networking sites are not like any other. They serve the same purpose but work a little differently, so you can pick which one you like the most.

What is the role of technology in creating new products?

      Technology is very important in creating new products. It helps in creating medicine and other stuff to save people's lives, and make them easier. The most popular products are probably iPods and cell phones, and these are things tons of people use everyday.     
      Technology is definitely a huge part of this world today.  Almost every person owns some piece of technology. I also think technology will be even more important in the world in the future and forever.

How does technology ceate career opportunities?

If you are really good with a computer and you know all about them you could get a good job. There is a ton of jobs out there that require people who are good with computers.
